MG TD TF 1500 - holy cats....it runs!

Well, after a long period of refurbishment (which isn't done yet) I gritted my teeth, crossed my fingers, and turned the key...

Son of a gun, it runs! It coughed, snorted, spit a little, and then settled down to an actual idle.

Course now I need to sort some leaks, and make a long list of adjustments, and generally check over everything like a ship preparing to get underway, but (sniffle) it runs!

I could not have done it if not for all the advise and learning I recieved from this board and archive. Thank you Gents.

Funny but this just originally started over two years ago when I told my long suffering wife : "I think I'll replace the floorboards this weekend."

Next thing I know I look around and all the wings are off a I have a partially rebuilt tranny on my bench.

Anther case of: "I might as well do this too while I'm in here", gone wild.

Good job! Always nice not to have massive leaks and/ or fire. Have to bring it to GOF South in the Spring. George

Know how you feel. 44 years ago I was driving a red car when I blew a head gasket. One thing led to another & it now looks like this... (The Ivory is the car's original colour) No garage, a family, a house, jobs & the car stowed 100 miles away with the mother in law & this is where I'm at now. So 2 years is nothing JA! Cheers
