MG TD TF 1500 - Hood bolts

Hi Guys,
I've been fitting my new hood to the TF. What type & size of bolts / machine screws should I be using on the bit that secures the rear seam of the hood to the 3rd bow of the frame?
The previous hood hadn't been secured in this area.
Many thanks,
Jon

I believe it was a countersunk-head slotted drive machine screw with an eyelet. Probably painted to match the hood.

Not an eyelet, but a countersunk or cup washer I think. Screw size 2BA or 3/16 BSF if I recall correctly. Opinions seem to differ on exactly where it goes - on the stitched seam or under the flap. I put it on the seam.

The 'cup washer' used was originally a small diameter 'Flanged Cup Washer'. The slight flange prevented any tearing of the hood fabric.
The similar flanged washers are used on the Philips Heads set screws
to affix the Under Dash Panel to the metal sub frame on TFs.

Agree with Matt.,they were probably painted.

Many thanks chaps,
I think they look neater if they are under the flap but after trial fitting the hood, it looks like the fit is better if the 3rd hoop is directly under the seam so this is where they're going.
Thanks for the advise,
Jon

I believe that Rob is correct when he says "The 'cup washer' used was originally a small diameter 'Flanged Cup Washer'. The slight flange prevented any tearing of the hood fabric." If you can't find a flanged cup washer, you can use a standard cup washer without fear of cutting the fabric just by filling the underside of the washer with JB weld and pressing it down on some wax paper - that will push out the excess of the JB weld and once it has set up you can trim off any excess and it will provide a flat surface against the fabric without cutting into it. Yes, cup washer not eyelet.
There is a good photo, number 314, in the gallery pictures of 9052 on the Original MG TF website.
