MG TD TF 1500 - Horn mounting bracket needed
Not sure where to search for one of the horn brackets I have lost during a recent rebuild. Thinking one away with some newspapers under newly painted parts. Anyone have a source or an old set to sell? Thanks, Rich

There is one on eBay just now. They are handed and this is for a TD. A bit expensive in my mind. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MGTD-MG-TD-BRACKET-HORN-MOUNTING-LEFT-/191277608300?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c8908ad6c&vxp=mtr Jim B.

Im in need of a right hhanded one. I may have a spare that ill use to create a file and cut some new ones. Not sure until I look at the part. Vince

Richard, If your looking for a pair for a TD, I have a pair SOMEWHERE! Let me look and see if I can find them, if I can I'll let you know. I'll look after dinner tonight. They won't be 22 bucks apiece either. PJ

Richard, I looked in the most obvious places and their not there. I'll look tomorrow in other boxes of different series parts, which is probably where their at. I know I have a pair, as they aren't TF parts, their in another bunch of boxes. Just finding them might be a chore. Sorry. PJ

Gary, thanks, actually what I'm missing is the piece that goes between the bracket and the horn, the one with rubber washers and a rubber insulator; I have the part of the bracket that is on e-bay. Let me know what you have available, please, I'm stuck with no way to connect the horn to the bracket at this point. Thanks, Rich

Richard, I repaired that actual piece you are looking for on Friday as the metal on one side was broken clean off near the round spacers so I replaced it using the good side as a template to cut out a new piece. There was no rubber on there-the 3 spacers were steel. I do seem to recall the other side having had rubber though as I had to do the same repair quite a while ago.The metal appears to be two layers of thin sheet-but I just used one thicker one. Regards Declan

Declan, I went through that a couple of years ago. It turns out that the thin sheet is actually some sort of spring steel. The mount provides some sort of vibration isolation. Bud

Hi Rich I have that part also. I recently acquired the parts from two different restores that have retired. Many new, restored and used parts. Gary

Bud, That's exactly what I was thinking Declan

Gary, I will definitely be calling you Monday. Thank you.
