# 281242569136 the Yellow TD with "Five New correct factory approved Vredestein tires", rubber fuel lines etc,, the buy it now price $43,999 Limited pictures this time around,,, SPW |
STEVE WINCZE |
Gee, Steve, For $44K, you would think he would have had the clock fixed. |
David Werblow |
He's been trying to sell that thing for at least two years and the price never changes. Whoever said "persistence pays off" never met this guy! From the text: "OWNER EXPECTS IT TO APPRAISE FOR $58,900.00-$69,900.00 IN 2014" So ... why not have it appraised and back it up? BobbyG |
Bobby Galvez |
Steve , Thanks for telling us "what" it was this time! I won't look...so I won't retaliate with that Green & Red Opel GT abomination this tyme! LOL BTW: I "expected" my 92 Dakota to be appraised @ $15k...but was offered less than what I spent on new brake lines, rotors, pads & tires...so I kept it! |
David Sheward "IZZY" TF 7427 |
I know a fellow who had his odometer turned back from 200,000 KMs to 50,000 KMs to increase it's trade-in value. When it had been done he decided to keep the car because it had such low mileage. :-) |
JR Ross |
He has a good copywriter. Some fiction involved, but based on a true story. If we all thought that we could get that Barrett-Jackson price, would we have sold long ago? Yes... for that money I would fix the clock! |
C.R. Tyrell |
I wonder what he has in the garage? Can anyone identify the car? |
Michael O'Brien |
Michael, the car in the background appears to be a Benz 190SL, vintage 1955 - 1963 - a lovely if rather slow grand touring car in the finest MB tradition. Dave. |
Dave Jorgensen |
I sent him a message on eBay asking what factory approved the tires. His response was just a tiny bit rude :-). |
Jack Long |
My 51 TD ALSO has a correct English wooden fuel measuring stick! And five new Factory Approved Tires installed by Discount Tires! I'm adding $30k to the value of my MG right away! |
Geoffrey M Baker |
Maybe if he got rid of that awful center justification so a human could read it he might have more luck!! People read from left to right where I come from! |
efh Haskell |
Is this the TD he was talking about at Barrett? That consigner is near my home. That seems like crazy money for a TD. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HqIofKy3lzA Alex |
Alex Waugh |
Alex, Thanks for that link. In a way, it's too bad because for that kind of money, no-body is going to drive it |
David Werblow |
The U Tube one went about double what the car was worth. Oh well my 51just went up in value ha ha |
Tom Maine |
Alex, the ebay seller claims the B-J sale was at $ 71,500. The link is to one that sold for $ 65,000 - still a stout sum. The car in question is ... well, questionable! BobbyG |
Bobby Galvez |
Guess I'll keep my wood dash and maybe chrome my grill slats that currently are black and match my interior. Jud |
J K Chapin |
The $71,500 probably includes the buyers premium. (I guess I've been watching too much Carini.) Cheers Peter Td 5801 |
P Hehir |
Bobby, I'm with Peter. my hunch is that the premium is included in the eBay sellers price quote. Alex |

"Even complete with wood British fuel measuring stick" It is of course a well known fact that British wood is the very best when it comes to measuring sticks......everyone knows they are more accurate. Luckily, I myself have a genuine measuring wood tree in my garden and can supply you with an original measuring wood stick for the bargain price of £2,000 (plus £300 postage) It comes complete with a factory certificate and is personally signed by the Queen. Grab yourself a bargain. These things don't grow on trees you know.. For those of you who are good with your hands I can also supply a genuine wood measuring stick in kit form. These are at the incredible knock down price of £1000. They look very similar to a long twig, but don't be fooled they are the real thing. They only need minor shaping to finish the job. |
Ray Coyte |
BJ has a buyer and seller premium added to the auction price. |
