MG TD TF 1500 - Laverne-The Deerslayer
Just talked Laverne who is working the Glenwood Springs event. Says he is going to need some windscreen components for a TF but his hard head survived unscathed. Early AM encounter with a deer reconfigured the Green Hornet-not for the better. Glad hear he is OK - damn deer ran off so no venison either. Dan ![]() |

Lucky, lucky, LaVerne. I hit two dear last year and one the year before. Here in the Rockburn area (Adirondacks) they are becoming a real nuisance. I got off with just superficial body work (not any on my MGs) but nonetheless a real bother. What you don't want to hit, is a 1,200 pound Moose. That can kill a driver (or passenger), and I've seen it (sadly). Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

Hunt the damn deer down! You can't rest until you get your hard earned venison? It couldn't have gotten far with bits of TF windscreen sticking from his/her belly. That must have been scary. A few years ago I was driving in a rally behind a Donkervoort (a Dutch Lotus Seven) when a troop of deer came running out off the forest, towards the Donkervoort. Holding our breath we were sure they would collide. Magically the deers jumped clear of the very low car. The driver heard them but didn't see them! |

It's good it was not a moose LaVerne. Man, that is was close encounter. Glad you were not hurt big guy. Rod |

Had a buck jump in front of an SUV and impale itself into the windshield at 50 mph. Did $8 damage to the car (10 years ago). Just about totaled it. I am glad you or the car were not seriously injured in this event. Not much you can do about deer. They are skittish and come out from nowhere. |

Glad you were not injured LaVerne. Looks like the TF suffered minimal damage, all considered. Great luck. Attached is a photo of the first thing that came to mind for Deer Country MG owners. ![]() |

LaVerne, The Originality Police have approved the following special modification for the "Green Hornet" only! The piece is a prototype that we are developing as a special order fitment for drivers in rural areas, particularly those that have demonstrated a tendency toward a heavy right foot! Seriously, I'm glad that neither the Green Hornet nor yourself was damaged any worse than you appear to have been. Here's hoping that you get her patched up and back on the road soon. ![]() |

Damned unlucky! Its the Drop Bears we have to worry about in Australia - real nasty! TF6288 Kev Simonsen |

Just a note to let you all know I'm fine. Full event and incident report later. Attempting to get John's TF in running order for his 1200 mile return trip home. Thanks for all the thoughts.
