MG TD TF 1500 - Lester MG (TC) Story
Interesting history for this car. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2014/03/26/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1954-lester-mg/?refer=news |

What's left to identify it as a TC? The frame has been changed, the body is totally different. Maybe it was the original engine that became 1466cc. Bud |

Bud, I should have put a ? after TC. My bad. Jim |

Wouldn't it be a TD? I should do a story about my grandfather's old ax. He bought it in 1935. He only replaced the head twice and the handle three times. :-) Best, David |

We've discussed this car before. The wheels are of MG Y-type origin, so I guess it has a Y-type suspension, but I'm not sure. I'll dive into my MG book collection to find out. |

This car - IMHO one of the ugliest T specials - has been for sale for some time. It was sold in the UK at auction in 2012 where it fetched abouty $26,000, and has been listed here on eBay at least 3 times, starting at $100,000. I thought there was a thread about it last year, but cannot find it. It's a Lester-MG, an MG-powered race car, but there qre some real questions about the history and ownership! And no matter what, it's ugly, ugly, ugly. Tom Lange MGT Repair |
