MG TD TF 1500 - Lost Thread - Ominious Engine Rattle

Lonnie, this is a bit scary. I searched the archives for threads started by me and the original thread did not show up. I went to the 2014 archive and there is a thread titled "Ominous Engine Rattle" but the contents of that thread are
"Ian Bowers, United Kingdom, md@georgeweil.co.uk
I started the TD today after some weeks rest. Almost immediately heard a harsh rattle. ..."

That's not my thread. I have an edited version of the thread that I can email to you but I'd really like to find and preserve the actual thread. I'll keep searching. Jud jchapin3 at aol dot com

Steve -

THANKS

Hey, don't leave me hanging. How did you find and revive the original "Ominous" thread?

I'm printing it to a .pdf right now.

Lonnie, please email a copy of the PDF to me at jchapin3 at aol dot com. I searched for threads started by me but didn't find it. I sent an email to the sysop but if you found it I can tell him all is well. Thanks. Jud.

Looks like Steve Wincze found it but I don't know how. Thanks Steve.

Your are welcome,,, but I think it was sheer luck,,,I tried to search the archives for;
Ominuous Engine Rattle and got nothing,,
Then I tried just Engine Rattle and it was found,,
I posted the reply IS THIS IT,, and it got reposted in the active list,,

Then I tried to search the archives again for
Ominuous Engine Rattle
and
Engine Rattle and got "The thread was removed"
Soooo, If you reply to an archived thread, I guess it gets removed from the archive list, and active threads do not show up there ??

Also,, The thread was right on the date that stuff gets archived (Sept 29th and last active thread was Sept 30th) so maybe when you tried, it was in the process of getting archived????

I just don't know the reason,,

Got it Lonnie, Thanks Steve. Jud

The new "Threads started by me" (which I requested a while back) is buggy. I have to retry 3 or 4 times to get valid results. Going back a page on this forum I'm found strange as well these days.
