MG TD TF 1500 - Lucas Inspection Lamp
The Lucas Inspection Lamp, or trouble light. Anyone know the Lucas number for the two prong male plug? Thanks. Larry

Thanks Sandy. I need the original Lucas number, if any one knows. Thanks again, Larry

Hello Larry. The early plug number is 545025 and has the number 273 below the part number on the box. The later sample is in a plastic bag and the number on that is as follows: CAB185 under that number is 82127 and under that is 11/83. Butch

Great. That is what I am looking for. I was not sure if CAB185 would work. Need one for my lamp, and I wanted to get the correct one. Thank you and Sandy for replying. Larry

Larry, Triple C has them: http://www.triple-c.com/Products/855/CAB185/LUCAS_STYLE_EARLY_PLUG While you're there ...check this out!

Thanks David. Found an original on the net.

Can you imagine the doctor saying, Ok, we have this new Lucas pacemaker we are going to put in you. Wonder how many they really used?
Bruce Cunha
I'd be more concerned about how the carry the 12v battery everywhere. :)

Wow, I want one of those pacemakers! STRICTLY for my collection of Lucas/Smiths/Jaeger items. It's hilarious. I think it's only for test purposes; if your heart survives the shock of the announcement that you are about to receive a Lucas pacemaker, you probably don't need one? I trust I'm not the only one with a Smiths kitchen timer? https://www.google.nl/search?q=Smiths+kitchen+timer&safe=off&hl=nl&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=T12tU7n0O4GjO--YgUg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=710

You think the pacemaker is positive ground?
Geoffrey M Baker
Larry , I hope you meant the "plug"....uh and not the pace maker! LOL First thing that popped into my brain when I saw the LPM was: "hmmmm, if you learn against a metal poll with one of these inside you...is there a danger of being "welded" to it?" Positive ground can be a little tricky sometimes! Other thoughts: Does it work after dark? Does it work in the rain? Anybody know the correct gap to set the points in one of these? Early models implanted at a depth of 1/2" ...later ones at 3/4"? The "silent/tick" setting just cracks me up...when runs low on OSH does the ticking speed up? I want one of these!

Sorry I took so long to get this picture of the early and late style of plug that I have. As you can see the early plug has a hole thru the center and the later one has a groove. Please see attached. Butch

Butch, thanks for the pictures. David, the Lucas pacemaker seems to be working ok. Came with a swith though, that said low, dim, flicker. Larry

Loved the Lucas Pacemaker. Luckily, I have a young cardiologist who installed a Pertronix, er, rather, a Medtronix one in me.
