MG TD TF 1500 - Missing part

As my TF was in pieces when I bought it I have found it is missing a part from the bonnet latch as shown in the photo. The right hand unit is missing the spring and rod. Does anyone have a spare one I could purchase?

Don try Ballingall motors 126 northern rd Heidelberg Melbourne. I had the same the same problem with the part missing on tf4571. Not cheap $150 for repro complete catch. Ph no 03 94597002 or email csp@ballingall.com.au they had a few last Sept when I bought mine. They have a lot of old stock parts for td's & tf's

Thanks Chris, at that price I might have to improvise somehow, or hope someone on this site has a spare.

Hi Don,

As you know,I dislike seeing South Australians in 'TF parts pain' !
I realise the frustration as I similarly have been looking for four(4) original Jubilee, O Size, TF breather pipe clips for some time.

I have one(1) each of an original spare in excellent condition of the TF lock mechanism parts you require i.e. the all important spring, the pointed guide, plus the threaded bolt. They are ready now for Cadmium plating.

You will need to strip out, clean all your other locks and the bonnet catch plates etc. ready for Cadmium plating.

Your enthusiasm for the TF means these parts are of course, gratis.
In the meantime, someone may have offered you a full set of NOS
locks !? lol..

BTW,the correct, original springs are the hard ones to get. The Factory
got the 'detent' of the spring/bonnet lift just right. (Repro. anything generally just does not seem to cut it).

Let me know what you think.

Cheers for now.

Thanks Rob, perhaps you could drop me an email regarding your more than kind offer.
