MG TD TF 1500 - My Painted Wheels and Tires
I have a couple guys interested in these wheels and tires. 4 as in the photo and a different spare. I haven't a clue what to ask for them and I don't want to be greedy. NO, the ebay pickers is out, just so you know. Any help on this? PJ

How old are the tyres? David |

$500 to 700 plus shipping. They looks great. A local MG enthusiast would be the best buyer. Could pick up in person. Tom '54 TF |

Wear in the hub splines should have an influence on pricing. |

The Dunlop tires were on the car when I bought it 5 years ago and they looked like they were never on the road. The red and green marking stripes down in the tread were like new. Other than that I haven't a clue to their age. They do look great though. Thanks guys for your input. I'm going to inspect the splines today. I've had the wheels off and on half a dozen times and they always felt tight. I'll look closer. PJ |

Paul,,, go to this site to find the age of the tires,, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11 The fact that they "look great" doesn't work with newer tires,,,It's all in the age,,,, Steve |

Paul Yes, if the tires are old, they may be junk. But the wire wheel you show looks very nice. Are they 60 spoke or 48? Tom |
T Norby |
Tom, that's a good question as I never checked them for spoke count. I'll check and get back. I think their original, but in nice shape. PJ |

Tom, The wheels are 48 spokes. Here's what I found on the side of the Dunlops. DOT VOT6 A28 2500 165R15 86S. PJ |

25th week of 2000? Maybe the first part of June 2000? 14+ years old? Jud |

Ok, I'll sell the wheels and the tires are free! I won't be responsible for selling 14 year old tires. But I'm not removing them, that's up to the buyer of the wheels. The wheels are in nice shape and I think their worth $75.00 each, sorry but, all 5 go as a set. Shipping or pick up would be up to whoever wants them, not something that'll go in the mail box! PJ |

Decided not to sell the wheels now! I might build a small camping type trailer and I'll need a set of wheels for it. Those old Dunlops would be perfect for a trailer, no weight. PJ |

Neat ideal Paul I have a pair of TF rear fenders to sell that would look great on a small trailer. If interested, email me. Tom |

Thanks Tom, I'll keep that in the back of my mind. It will be a while before that involvement.PJ |

Paul, Should you change your mind again, I am looking for a good set of original wire wheels I can use for my 55 TF resurrection project. They would have to be compatible with the hub conversion adapters as my car has discs. Thanks, Dan |

Having been "busted by the Concourse Police" on more than one occasion for my wide chrome 60's (among other things) I decided my 48's will stay with the car for the next owner. |

Well nothing is written in stone as far as the trailer goes, but for now I'm hanging on to the original wheels as they are in very nice shape and until I give it more thought, they'll stay in the shop. PJ |
