MG TD TF 1500 - Nails?
Are the nails for the scuttle, forward side panels, rear quarters and back plate, dome top of flat top? Are they Brass or Steel or is there a mixture? Again, what is it that placing a drop on each hole will make the nail lock in a previously made hole? There was a mixture of nails in this car, which is no surprise! PJ |

I used nails that are slightly larger gauge than the originals because that is all I could buy. As I mentioned in your other post I have used serrated nails, generally steel but some of bronze. They had flat heads. You could try injecting some exterior grade PVA glue into the old holes if you want to put nails back into them. |

Max, I have to use the existing holes, otherwise I would have to drill new holes in the sheet metal and I don't want to do that. The original wood is in excellent shape, so I'm putting that back in place. I only replaced two pieces of wood with new, the plywood in front of the fuel tank and the cross piece below it. Thanks again for the info. PJ |

Paul I imagine you guys would have a product with like characteristics to what is known as "Liquid Nails" here in Aus. A little "dab will do ya" as per the "Brylcream" add will do the job. |

Paul , shoot me a private email, may have some solution / nails / glue etc. Gerard |

Gerard, Thank you for your kind offer, but I bought a box of serrated nails. Just have to make sure everything is in the proper position before nailing, as these nails are very hard to get back out. Thanks again. PJ |

Paul, I do know for certain that Hutson use steel serrated nails when they are making new T series bodies. |
