Exciting! I have a small leak in one of mine which I have dealt with due to the lack of a better solution. It might be time to pony up and replace them... again.

Wonder if Declan had anything to do with the manufacturing of them? If their his I'll buy a pair. PJ

I also get promotional emails from Abingdon Spares. The most recent one, a day ago, mentioned ‘premium nitrile rubber link seals’, ‘premium rubber swivel pin seals’ (possibly Declan’s), but only ‘steering rack boots’. They also say "These kits include superior quality Polyurethane Suspension Bushings and also include our Premium Nitrile Rubber Link Seals and Swivel Pin Seals." No mention of anything in particular about their steering rack boots.

Did anyone get any specific details about the current steering rack boots being an improvement on other/previous offerings?

PJ,
I was not involved in the Abingdon rack boots!
I have sourced rack boots from several suppliers and have them here but would not attempt to sell them until I test them myself. They all appear to come from the same manufacturer-but where does he hang out? I think I could make an intelligent guess.
I would have liked to made my own but the tooling is too complicated.

Michael
The Abingdon polybushes are not from me. The seals are a different story.

I purchased new boots from a well known supplier a year ago. Recently one burst. They were universal ones with stepped ends and you cut off each end until you had the correct diameter. There are two issues with these. Firstly they are too long and the bellows have to compress too much at full lock. With mine the compressed rubber had rubbed against the steering knuckle tab washer and had punctured. I would have thought that the stretch would have been the problem but not so. The second issue was the lack of a lip when the redundant part of the boot was cut off. The securing clips can easily slip off. I bought new boots from Moss and they are excellent.

When i got the email about the kits, and asked AS if the boots were also of a superior quality material, they said they were.
Ill get to see them first hand at British By The Sea this Sunday.
Also, I'll get to see their Ashley bodied Miget!
