MG TD TF 1500 - oil feed pipe

Could someone measure the diameter of the copper pipe which feeds oil into the cylinder head please. The outside diameter of mine is 0.187" (3/16")however I am not getting enough oil flow into the head. My oil pressure is 35psi so that's OK. I have checked by pulling a fine wire through the pipe which doesn't appear to be blocked or restricted in anyway. Maybe the copper pipe is too small a diameter restricting flow.

John,
You might check the fittings at each end. POs have been known to solder a fitting closed and then re-drill
in a smaller size when they thought they had excess oil to the rocker assembly.

Hi John.

I replaced my oil line recently and kept the original line. The original line was 0.185 OD and the replacement from Moss was slightly larger at about 0.190 OD. Hope this helps.

And yes, I reversed the arch in the replacement line so it did not compromise the tappet cover.

Jim, The top fitting has a hole appx. 0.169" and the bottom fitting has a hole of 0.196".
The copper tube i.d is only 0.0938 (3/32").
Looks as though someone at some time fiddled around with the tubing so I think I need to drill the top out to match the bottom fitting and try and find some copper tubing with a larger I,D.
Thanks Jim.

Than you Bill a good help. I also have reversed my fittings.

Is there a possibility that you are not getting any oil?
If the rocker shaft pillers are interchanged then the one with the oil hole matching the hole in cylinder head is drawing a blank elsewhere,

I made a new oil pipe as the existing one was somewhat blocked. Thought I would investigate the rocker shaft and found it full of crud. Cleaned it out and all is now OK.
Thank you all.
