MG TD TF 1500 - Original TD Floor and LTD Locations

Is my TD Floor original and would information be helpful if it is?

I have been planning on installing carpet in my 53TD, and did some research to install information. I found a lot of guesses as to where the Lift-the-dot locations were.

Pulling out my seats I noticed there were still holes or actual LTD studs still there. The questions I have are:
1. Is this an original floor (pictures)
2. If it is original, what information would be needed before I put in the new carpet.

Looks very original to me. The only real question is where to mount the two lift the dots just in front of the seats. There was some variance between cars.

I just went out and looked at my original floors on TD4834. I have one LTD fitted on the firewall in the same location but all carpet retainers on the boards were carpet tacks that are still present though the carpet is long gone, unless the LTD was once nailed in and this is all that's left was a nail?

The two LTD prior to the seats on each side were wood screw type so easily could have come out and been lost. The holes would be small.

There are three LTD on the firewall. One below the steering column and two above the transmission that hold a small piece in place.

Look at the link above. You will find lots of pictures of unrestored cars to show you what is correct.

Chris After looking more closely at my fire wall it looks like a may have had 2 LTDs in the center up high kind of straddling the transmission tunnel. Also closer inspection shows two very small threaded holes just ahead of the seat mounting holes for possibly the LTDs I also found a dome headed wood screw very small and short midway behind the seat mounting holes and the back edge of the floor boards next to the driveline tunnel on both boards. But both boards also have short carpet tacks around the perimeters and around the foot well that do not protrude the bottom of the boards

W.A. That all sounds pretty normal. The carpet was tacked everywhere except where those LTD studs are. From your description I think the round headed wood screws sound like ones that hold the fiber dome that covered the emergency brake clamp under the seat back. You can see it on the second picture above.
