Grille looks Nash or Rambler. Kinda ugly to my eyes. Tom |

Good one Dave. Has a 70's Mopar small block - 318/340/360 With an AFB carb. Beyond that - I dunno. Agree w/Tom in the Nash ish grille and ugly countenance. More clues for the clueless, bubba. |

OK ...it was kind of a "trick question"! It is a "one off" ...all hand built. (Titled as "1963 hand built") Looked better in person than in the pic's. Tube frame, fenders cut down from 40 & 50 ford's, (among others) 49 Nash Grill, 318v8. (Good catch on that...I guessed it also ...what made me go take a closer look!) The level of craftsmanship was amazing on the metalwork. (seams & fit....rolled edges, ect...NO body filler) DS Special He had a book detailing the entire process and history. First finished in 1959 as a DHC, raced & wrecked (Flathead V8 back then?) then reborn as a FHC I think early 70's? Talked to the guy for some time ...lots of hours on English wheel and panel beating went into it. Just amazing the bits & pieces he used to put it together, the detail making everything "smaller", and the fit looked like it rolled out of a factory instead of someone's garage! And yes ...it goes like a little rocket! |
