MG TD TF 1500 - OT - Safely Saving YouTube Videos
Anyone know of a safe way to save YouTube videos so that they can be viewed offline? So far I've run into a host of malware/virus-enclosed techniques. I had something a couple of years ago, but I seem to have lost it. Replies off-forum would be fine. TIA. Bud |

I'll investigate that when I get back if you haven't found an answer yet. The fellow that was shooting the sway bar stuff shot some video he put on the tube and in some way I now have it on my PC. I don't know how. I pulled some music from a couple of videos but you are right...it took me forever to get my PC cleaned back up. On another note...the full length video went out in yesterdays mail. You should see it next week I'd guess. |

Bud - I use Keepvid to capture YouTube and on-line videos. The site is free. No ads or links are added to the videos. I haven't had a problem with malware and spam. Quality is as good as the original YouTube video. HOWEVER - YOU GOTTA BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU CLICK ON THE KEEPVID SCREEN. It has some spots that look like they are part of the Keepvid operation, but they are links to other sites that may not play nice with your computer. The fact that the site uses these fake buttons doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. How to: Go to http://keepvid.com/ Copy the URL from a YouTube video that is playing Paste the URL into the window at the top of the Keepvid window. Click "DOWNLOAD" at the RIGHT of the window where you pasted the URL >> DON'T CLICK "DOWNLOAD" OR "PLAY NOW" in the center of the screen. A very dim frame around those links says "Advertisements". >> Two more buttons on the right side of the screen also appear to be ads or malware links ... "Regular Download" and "Premium Download" DON'T CLICK THEM Eventually a list of files will appear on the lower left of the screen. You have a choice of file types and resolution to choose. Usually no need to choose a file that is "Video Only" or "Audio Only" Good luck. I hope that I didn't lead you down the path toward computer destruction! Lonnie TF7211 |

Thanks guys. Bobby, that almost seems too clean to be real. But I'm going to try it. Lonnie, I'd be a bit afraid of that one. Looking forward to them LaVerne. Trying to get familiar with the language. Bud |

> BobbyG Save From Net is TOO GOOD! Thanks. > Bud KeepVid was the best that I had found before BobbyG's method. I agree ... KeepVid has some sleezy attributes. Lonnie TF7211 |
