MG TD TF 1500 - OT Emma has moved South

Well - we made the move to Florida and have ended up in Port Charlotte.
The move was a process I would not recommend to anyone over 70. Do it when you are 50 would be my advice. :)

The MG came down from Maine so easily. Mike Duncell from Ocala picked up the TD from a storage facility I had put her in and delivered it in pristine condition. He runs a NASCA style truck the can take a bunch of cars on two levels, covered and secure. Really nice guy and was $300 dollars cheaper than a New York outfit who also quoted. If you are moving your car or bike across country or going to a meet many miles away - I would seriously recommend Mike for the job. I have no financial interest but am just a very happy customer
Mike Duncell (352) 208-3814 - 4 D's Trucking Inc. 12705 NW HWY 225, Reddick. FL 32686,
Thank you sir Really nice job.
Emma is now in the sun where she belongs and no more snow.

Attached Emma's new home.

Welcome to Florida. We are heading into summer, I hope your TD enjoys the Florida summer temperatures

Made the move to Tampa Bay Area 2-1/2 years ago from the Adirondacks in New York. Just turned 70 and am enjoying it very much. True the summer is tough, but not as bad as the Northern winters

Welcome

Cheers

While a bit of a drive in a TD, you should drive up to Ocala for GOF South this weekend. Should be great weather and a good time. George

I second George's comment...hope to see you there. GOF South is great...been attending since 1993...before I had a car to bring!

George,
Would love to come up but having just moved in and only just got my Temp Florida plate on. There are so many other things I have to do. 'Her indoors' is running a tight ship and skiving off for the W/E is not something I slip past her easily.
We are still unpacking and with less storage space then we had in Maine (twin cellars) I am having to be inventive in the Garage to store all the bits and pieces we brought with us but have no place for yet.

Now if anyone living in the Port Charlotte area who wants to meet up and have natter - I could get away for that.
As for the GOF - sadly it will have to be next year.

A fellow club member, Kevin Wiseman, will be at the GOF with his German made "survivor" TD. Interesting car.

Bob.
Would that MG-TD be black.
I knew a Don/Jan Macleod that had one when they lived in Jacksonville. Then they moved out of state and I lost contact.
Sandy Sanders.
P.S. I will be coming up to the GOF for only one day (tomorrow)

I believe so Sandy. I think this was a eastern North Carolina barn find. I hope you can connect with Kevin.

Sandy,

Do you mean that black TD was a so called German-TD? That would be very interesting news! Do you have more information?

Approx. 25 German TD's were made with only 4 (maybe 5) known survivers. One of them is Kevin's TD, another one resides in Holland.

See the archives for extensive information and a lot of pics.

wELL miracle of all miracles we actually had three (3) of the German nfg MG-TD's at the GOF in Ocala.
One of them I have known since 1973.
The other two were new to me.
One was the barn find.It even has metrick instruments.
I have photos but they are too large for this site.

The barn find and restored one. Not pictured: the vintage racer. While that on is evidently one of the German cars and is a beautiful car, not much of the German body is left. George
