MG TD TF 1500 - Paul J-progress report?

Paul,
Do you have any images of progress on the TF to share. I hope to get mine put together for this summer and watching your progress is very helpful!

This is where I'm at now. If you need a particular area, I'll do what I can.

Paul,
did you finally get the rubber piece to compress under the running board strips or did you have to remove some rubber to make them lay flat?
J K Barter

Mr. Barter, I laid the strips on top of the rubber and pulled them down fairly tight, just enough to compress the rubber somewhat. I'm going to let them set that way for a month or so and then try to pull them down some more. If I can get them to compress half way, I'll see how they look. Right now there's a 1/8th inch gap under the chrome strip by the rubber.

Thanks for the compliments. PJ

Thanks,I am a little behind you putting my car together so it is nice to see how you deal with these little issues.

Paul,

Your car is fabulous! Beautiful color combination.

I hope to have my TF this far along by this time next year.

Paul.
Your TF is so bbright that I had to use dark sunglass' to look at the photo. It also made me stutter.
Beautiful job,
thank you.

I used a screen door repair wheel to insert those rubber strips! Worked great. Cheap too! Available at any hardware store.

Ed, I pushed them down as hard as I could and tightened the bolts between the running board and fender. Their down as far as possible, but the lip still sticks up a bit. Hopefully the pressure of the strip will collapse the rubber to an acceptable thickness.

Your TF looks great PJ! Keep up the great work. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Picked up the windshield chrome a couple days ago and it all came out beautiful. Have all new screws and bolts coming. Have to decide whether to use the old glass with a very old decal on it, or go with a new glass. Never really looked at the original glass when I wrapped it in cardboard and shelved it, if it's not scratched, I might just put it back on the car, not sure. Here's the old decal. Been many guesses, but no concrete confirmation of it's origin. Be nice if someone would jump in and say, Hey, I know that decal, it has my old parking spot number on it! But we don't live in a dream world so.PJ
