MG TD TF 1500 - pedal box
having a problem removing parts. how do you remove pedal spring? |

A long pair of needle nose plyers should do it. I'm not speaking from experience though, my car came in pieces so my only problem was putting it and everything else back in. Regards, Rich |

Just got mine back together a couple weeks ago. Long nose pliers, get everything loose, things will pretty much rattle apart as you press/drive out the shaft. Getting everything back in... aye, there's the rub! Good luck, Bob; |

Hello Frank. The first step is to remove all components from inside the pedal box, which I'm sure you have done . The next step is to locate the small hook positioned at the front lower end of the pedal box . If you locate the hook then with long nose plyers proceed to make the connection. It may take a few attempts, although with patience you will prevail. I would suggest as well that the gap on one end of the spring should be sufficiently open to engage the hook. If you are unable to locate the hook it may have eroded with time. In this case you will have to drill a small hole at the bottom lower end of the pedal box to be able to secure one end of the spring . There are other alternatives you may wish to consider. John |

Frank, the hook was rusted away in my pedal box. I solved the problem by drilling a hole in the lower front of the box and then ran a pin through it with a hole in the end of the pin to connect the spring. |

LaVern That looks like the end of a very frustrating attempt to work on the pedals. |
