MG TD TF 1500 - Prayers needed

The strife continues in my house. Thursday I was admitted to the ICU at Kaiser Hospital for a major heart attack. After a contrast catheterization it was determined that I had a 90% & 80% blockage in two major arteries supplying the heart. I was transferred to Mercy hospital Friday for emergency surgery. Thanks to God and the skills of two surgical teams my heart was successfully saved. I had dodged a very lethal bullet. I was released this afternoon and I am on strict
Bed rest for the next week. Cardiac rehab to follow along with a slew of meds I will have to take for the rest of my life. I am thankful to my friends and neighbors who have come to my aide to care for Sarah my service dog. And thanks to my friends near and far in this great community that is my family. Hold the ones yoo love close as you will never know what may snatch you from them. As for me, I have been given a new lease on life

Made it through the first night home. Sarah my service dog hasn't left my side since I returned. House seems so big and empty now that dad is gone and no family nearby. Went outside this morning and installed my started and rear carb and linkage. That was enough for the day. Ok i know, I know, I need to rest but I've been bed bound for four days and I needed to move around. Being very aware to not lift anything over five pounds and not to strain or get my blood pressure up. Now laying back in bed and will stay there

My new hood and tonneau are in transit from TopsOnline and should be here Monday or Tuesday. My date with Award Upholstery has been pushed back into August as they are moving into a bigger shop after over 30yrs in their current location. So that gives me some breathing room.

I met a gentleman at GOFWest who had a two bow frame and canvas but I lost his number and his name. My bows has a sheared off rivet at the base swivel that needs to be drilled out and replaced but haven't found a source for the rivets to fix it. Anybody have a source?

I wish I could get something accomplished. This laying around is not my nature. Thank you all for your well wishes. It means a lot Even though I don't know many of you personally I feel that I do. I have met some really great people through this site and you have all been a great help in ways that your not even aware of. As I lay here recooperating you are my connection to the outside and I appreciate you all

Bill,

Do what your cardiologist says and you should have no problems...one of my neighbors has had two valve replacements and he hasn't slowed down a bit.

The heart is one tough muscle...reminds my of the XPAG engine. Try to relax and, when you get clearance, take that great dog for a walk.
Charles Duffy

Slow down Bill...that car is still going to be there long after your ashes are scattered so take your time, gain strength and don't tire yourself out. You have my number so give me a call if you just have to have an XPAG fix.
Gene Gillam

BILL, FROM ONE WHO JUST LAST YEAR DID THIS, DO NOT OVEREXTEND. FOLLOW DR. ORDERS AND BE CAREFUL. YOU TEAR ONE OF BLOOD VESSELS OR BREAK A STICH, THEY WONT BE THERE TO SAVE YOU. SORRY ABOUT ALL CAPS BUT KEYBOARD IS BUSTED.
TRM Maine

Geez you all are making me very emotional... I am so very blessed to be given a second chance at life. You all mean more than you can possibly know as I have no close family left but my service dog Sarah. She just went on the disabled list today suffering from what the vet thinks is a spider bite. Now we are taking care of each other more than ever as we are both required to rest which in her case is not her nature either. Life suddenly looks so much different through a "new set of eyes". How priorities in life change in an instant. Your words of caution as well as encouragement do not go unheeded. Thank you all...

Sincerely

Best wishes bill, and my prescription is: one MG, taken daily, in moderation. No heavy lifting, get friends to do that for you. And don't get stressed by high Moss prices, bad MG ebay listings, or awful color schemes. That's an order!
Geoffrey M Baker

Take it easy and get healed up. God Bless you and don't worry either...worry is bad.
Regards and Blessings to you

Bill, very good to hear that you are still getting older! Best wishes for a speedy & full recovery.
Let this be a reminder for all of us (at our age) to see our doctors regularly.

Glad you are doing well. We live in a wonderful age when things like this can be treated. Will keep you in my thoughts. George

Thanks everyone, I haven't assumed room temperature yet. Although I'm very tired and still having discomfort I won't let this beat me just yet.

I managed to go out and fuss on the car for a bit yesterday. Please don't give me grief as I just can't stay cooped up and I'm not doing anything my Dr's have said not to. Started the car but it seems now that since it has been sitting for over a month, the race fuel has gummed the carbs up. So I will have to take them apart, again, and clean them out. I will pump out the remaining 2 gallons of fuel before I attempt a restart and put premium pump gas in the tank. but that will be at least a week away to give me more time to rest.

Something interesting happened that I don't have an answer to yet. I had wired my tail lights up though not sure yet whether I have the bulbs wired correctly as it appears I don't have a ground for anything on the back of the car to work. obviously I still have some sorting to do but won't be getting under the car for quite awhile yet. But the odd thing is now the front wing marker lights are flashing with the turn signal switch in the neutral position which they never did before. The right one is much brighter than the left though they where both lit correctly before I wired the tail lights. I Imagine my bad ground relates to the wire to the chassis at the left rear damper. I will use a star washer between the eyelet and the frame to try and get penetration through the powder coat. Although the bolt into the thread should have been sufficient.

My Robbins Stayfast hood and full tonneau arrived yesterday so I now have all the materials to finish the car. My moss interior will likely go into the car and I will have to live with my choice for a few years anyway if I cant come up with a replacement in a minimal amount of time.
