MG TD TF 1500 - rear hub brarings
Could someone please assist by providing the specifications of the rear hub bearing for a T.F. Thank-you John |

If you need a basic answer, kindly look in the archives FIRST, where they can usually quickly and easily be found. Although I don't find any reference to "brarings"... See the thread "Axle Sealed Bearing Number?" for the answer. |

Hello J.M. Please be informed that I in fact did search the archives FIRST . Thank-you for your SUGGESTION. John |

jm murray, your response to a simple question from someone looking for assistance..including a "spell check", seems out of character for this forum. you are not compelled to respond. if you believe a question is a waste of your time to respond..then don't. regards, tom |

I'm afraid I have to agree with Tom. This is a forum to provide assistance and advice, not to find fault. |

I have frequented this forum for years, and have been quite impressed by the friendly atmosphere. Of the many forums I frequent, this one is unique in that reguard. I hope this thread just took a wrong turn, and the general discourse will go back to the friendly and polite discourse that has become commonplace. To John, the post originator, one of your fellow countrymen, Gord Clark has reciently set out on a quest to obtain replacement rear wheel bearings for his TF. Gord is a personal friend of mine, and I am sure he would be all to happy to assist you and share his knollege with you. I would encourage you to email him for advise. -David |

Hello David. I do know Gord very well . We have been close associates for a few years now . He has been very helpful in steering me in the right direction on quite a number of issues related to re-conditioning of a T.F. I undertook a few years ago. The question I brought forward today on the B.B.S. regarding bearing specifications is in direct connection to Gord's need for rear bearings. Having the spec's allows me to check the bearing stock I have on hand and if I do have what he needs he would be welcome to them at cost well below market value . In fact David we had a conversation today on the phone covering this very matter. Thank-you John |

Sorry - didn't mean to offend. I'm fairly new to all this and am amazed at how much information there is in those Archive answers. I've probably NOT asked 30 questions because the answers were right there, and I was just passing on the info. JM |

Hello J.M. You are to be commended in acknowledging your regret in your response on the question raised by your-truly . I as well, gain much knowledge searching through the archives from time to time and equally as much from direct contact with other members of the B.B.S. as I am sure you have as well. There is no doubt that the unconditional willingness of its members does in my judgement substantiate its success and the importance it holds with its members. I believe D. Sanders brought forward an excellent point and as well the others who responded to this issue . Seemingly the common objective by all of us is to keep this structure heading in the right direction. While there is a vast body of information in the archives, the search engine is frustrating and is really pretty bad. Those of us that have been on the board for years have likely commented many times on the same issues. There are times when the archive search and information is needed. As we all know now, it is best to be diplomatic about sending someone there, or if you find it yourself just list the exact title. Spell check seems to be worthless also, have to remember that. Yes, this is a valuable resource, amazing it has been so nice and friendly all of these years. George |

I have only been around this site for about 6 or 7 years, but even though this site is the best site on the net for MG cars of all series, it remains of old technology in it's format and that can be a little frustrating at times. I'm not complaining mind you and I think the keepers of the site are doing an excellent job, but when we come here after using other sites, we have to step back a few years in technology and just except the friendship and knowledge this site germinates. If all other sites went down, I would only hope this one will continue to survive. PJ |

PJ, can you point me to such a superior site? Bud |

Come on guys what going on here. I have been exposed to both BMW and Volvo Car sites because of vehicles I have and currently own, this resource for MGT information places them in the shade. Yes the archive requires patience when you negotiate it however as long as you realize you are dealing with American spelling and terminology there is no drama associated with locating the information that is available. The ability to refresh past posts is a great resource. I use this site to not learn how to remove bird droppings from my duco, multiple posts I encountered elsewhere. The old adage has to be applied here "if it aint broke dont fix it". Graeme |

John, you have the shoulders of a colossus & a back that is so smooth it would make a duck envious! Your forgiving nature is the envy of us all. But David... You're a very, very bad boy! You've misspelled "recently" so I think you should put on your dunce's hat & go & sit in the naughty corner! Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

I am slightly far sighted, and use my iPad to access this forum. Between the little screen, the fake keyboard, the autocorrect feature, and the lousy IOS 7 update, I can and do make many spelling errors. -David |
