MG TD TF 1500 - Rocker arms ??

A fella on another forum asked what these rocker arm covers are for on a 54 TF. I've never seen anything like them. Looks like a patch job of some sort. Anyone have a clue? Oil deflectors? PJ

Yes - those are oil deflectors. On some cars the oil shooting up will cause a leak at the oil filler cap.

Looks like the deflectors are a method of fixing the effect and not the cause. Maybe the makin's of a disaster.

My car had these on it. I guess they are a homemade deflector.

They look like a homemade locking tab. They could not deflect oil from the holes on top of the rockers.
