MG TD TF 1500 - Seat back tear down
| Today I embarked on what can only be described as seat back archaeology. I had been under the mistaken impression that my car, TD 24935, was fairly original...That impression was obviously very wrong. I found no less than three layers of upholstery on the seat back when I tore it down, along with over sixty years of rodent nests. I think this is beyond rescue!

Anybody interested in some real patina?

Unfortunately, even the spring set is beyond redemption in my opinion.

| On a more pleasant note, I found the seat bottoms in a much better condition. I did have to replace the plywood and I added the rodent screen. I had to clean up the rails and put in fresh T nuts, but the original Dunlop foam and the curved, thin plywood were both usable. |

| It appears it's time to contact Hugh Pite just over the Canadian border from you. |

| Pic of seat bottom ready to recover. I should of thought of Hugh, Jim. Thanks for the suggestion.
