MG TD TF 1500 - Seatback hole dimensions,

I just got through finding all the holes in my newly covered seat back.
In dosing so I checked out the attached drawing.

PLEASE NOTE. These are the dimensions for my car. They may not represent yours. However if you do not have any dimensions they are better than nothing.

Several months ago I got new seat back wood from Moss.
I carefully measured the old holes in my existing BB and translated them to the new one.
I tested all the components for fit, mad a drawing and then sent the BB of to the upholsterer.
I complicated things by installing set screws in key holes. I thought I could pick them up with a small stud finder, the I have, which works like a metal detector.

Wrong. It picked up all the springs and staples. Using the attached drawing I was able to find all the missing holes easily.

Needing to remove the set screws added a lot of time to the project.


If you choose to make your own backboard wood this should also help.

I'll be happy to do so, but not today. Last Wednesday my computer suffered some sort of catastrophic death. I had been doing backups, but this particular problem does not readily lends itself to reinstalling a virtual image. Would be hard to guesstimate how many hours I've spent on it in these past 5 days. Hooray for my email and Firefox backup laptop. On top of that I've got some eye surgery scheduled for tomorrow. Bud
