MG TD TF 1500 - Side curtain fitting?

This must be for the rear side curtain. Is there a fitting that goes in there?

Sadly yes. And it may be difficult to install them now that the tub is painted. There is a left and right side piece. The off center middle screw engages the hook in the side curtain frame.

My wood was in such bad shape that I must have missed them. Oh well, onward and upward!.

Bill Reid: Just chisel away the wood at the bottom so you can slide the fittings up into the slot. The screws will secure them just fine. You may have to take a Dremel tool to the sheet metal at one or two of the screws to give you access to a driver. I would suggest a Philips head in that case so its smaller.

Abingdon has replacements, which I have ordered. However, they don’t have a screw extending into the pocket. Is this third screw necessary to hold the side curtain in place? Looking at Bill’s picture, it looks like this could be added.

Yes the third screw acts as the pin to engage the frame hook.
