MG TD TF 1500 - Side Curtain Wing Nuts
Can someone who absolutely knows they have original side curtain nuts take a profile picture for me? I have two wing nuts profiles in my stash and I am trying to determine if there are two patterns. One set has the bottom of the lever part fairly flat while the other swoops up. I would show both profiles but mine are at the platters. ![]() |

Chris, I can't help with the TC/TD side curtain nuts, but the photo you posted shows a pattern identical to those found on the Triple-M P and N types. The Triple-M cars, however, use a different base with the stud part of the nut and not the base plate. ![]() |

Lew: If you notice the lever part you are showing has a fairly flat bottom. I have some TD knobs that are similar. I also have knobs that swoop up on the bottom of the lever part (this is the way the repos are). So I am trying to determine if the factory had both types or if the originals only had flat bottoms like the one you show. |

On the left is an original from my TF 1500 and on the right is a fairly good replica (I do not know where from). Matthew. ![]() |

Every time someone asks about original parts, I always look forward to seeing bits of your TF Matthew. Yours is the same color scheme as mine was when it left the factory and both are 1500s. Our original colors and 1500 engines make them very rare (the grey with red interior was the lowest by volume when I checked last). Alex |

"grey with red interior was the lowest by volume" Only one combination rarer: White with black interior. (1 car only) |

Matthew: the one on the left is like my original one. I guess I will need to find two more like it as I have two. |

Chris Pair up for grabs on "Fleabay MG TD Parts" at present, one new, one original, pattern appears identical. |

I received this Moss #405-100 "Nut, L-Handle, Side Curtain" a couple of days ago (LEFT) A side curtain nut from my TF-1500 is on the (RIGHT). Don't know it is original. Lonnie TF7211 ![]() |

Mikes is a bit different yet. |

There may not have been a single supplier, so the pattern could be different from car to car and year to year. It may be sensible to have the bottom sweep up to avoid scraping your knuckles on the plate and screws underneath. |
