MG TD TF 1500 - Smith Heater
My heater isn't restored yet, but was wondering if a factory mounting plate was available? Here's a photo of Rod Jones heater mount for his Smith heater, which I have the same heater. I could fabricate a mount, but would rather purchase an original if one is available for a T series. PJ![]() |

PJ, It is a strait piece of flat mild steel (Or could be aluminum I guess) which bolts through the back of the tool box. Real simple I don't think there is an "Original Plate." Least I have never seen one for sale. Rod ![]() |

A gentleman from Kentucky, Richard Taylor I believe, sent me this Triumph through the firewall heater hose fitting and it works very well and is a neat setup. With my fabricated pipes, it looks like it belongs on the car. Some trimming of the gasket and clamps is all that's needed. PJ

Very nice and clean. But aren't you worried about that pipe getting hot so close to the engine? :-) |

Not really Chris, being in the air flow of the fan it'll create no problem. In the Summer only one shut off will be used stop hot water flow and to allow pressure equalization in the heater line. PJ |
