MG TD TF 1500 - Solid State Voltage Regulators
The Voltage Regulator on my TF needs some attention. I thought this might be a good time to switch to a solid state one, if such exists. I recall there was a chap making a conversion, but that he has since passed. Is there any source for such an item today? Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

Sorry, Gord, but your memory of Bob Jeffers goes way back. The more recent solid state regulators were ( past tense) provided by Dave Ahrendt as Vintage Mecha-Tronics. I acquired their last one in 2022. It's going fine. I swap it out now and then when I install my Dynamator. Bud Krueger Marietta, GA |

From what I can see on line, there is one in the UK and one in the US. Here is the US company. https://www.classicregulator.com/electronic-regulators |

Bruce, Not convinced that those Regulators are solid state. Couldn't find anything that said so. Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

Gord … there is additional information in the box (left side) under the heading details. Seems clear to me. |

The US company is working with Classic Dynam & Regulator Conversion in the UK. CDRC developed a good electronic regulator, and apparently is assisting classic regulator. |

Dave Ahrent in N Carolina used to make some really nice ones, but I believe he does not do it any more |

SPW, I bought his last one. It works fine. Bud |
