MG TD TF 1500 - Something not right with drive shaft tunnel
Please see the TF drive shaft tunnel mounting brackets in the photo. A fourth hole on the rear of the bracket is hidden under the rear body tie bar. Is that okay, or is the rear body tie bar bent too much forward (it doesn't look bent)? thanks, Tyler

My experience is that you will have to compromise a bit with the mounting holes when you mount the tunnel. I see that your prop shaft has been touching the hand brake mounts within the tunnel. Same disease as in my TF. regards, Jan |

I think the rearward extent of the floorboards controls the fore to aft position of the tiebar. If you have the floorboards, place them in and that will push it back if needed. George |

Not sure if its exactly the same as the TD but the hole that does not have a captive nut and mounts to the frame must be secured first. It sets the position. From the picture it looks like TF's may use a short machine screw for this. Then the floorboards go down and you have to do all the machine screws at one with lots of coaxing to get everything to line up. You might need to get a bunch of alignment tools to coordinate. Also there should be a notch on the underside of the floorboard to clear this bolt. It may have been broken all the way through too. ![]() |

These brackets on my TF, the last hole where the large arrow is, has capture nuts. I missed the ones in the last hole when I did these photos. My sheet metal has no holes above for screws in these last holes. PJ![]() |
