MG TD TF 1500 - SOURCE FOR BSF BOLTS?

I am looking for half a dozen bolts 1/4 BSF x 1.5 inches (26 TPI) that are fully threaded (I believe the correct nomenclature may be "set screws.")

Most sources (like Moss) seem to carry only partially threaded bolts.

If you have some or can recommend a source, your assistance will be appreciated.

has a pretty good stock, not sure if they have what you are specifically looking for.

Mark - You may have run into a semantics issue. What you are looking for are 1/4 BSF X 1.5" hex head screws (threaded all the way to the head). Bolts are only threaded part way up. Cheers - Dave

I have purchased these from Abingdon Spares.
I did not find them in the catalog just now, but call. I am sure they have them.

I've stopped ordering any BSF fasteners from US suppliers as most think they are made from gold (or I am). I now deal with Mike Peters at Polished Stainless http://www.polished-stainless.com/ Despite the name, he has surplus stocks of most BSF, BSW, and BA fasteners at very good prices - even including postage from the UK.

I purchased BSF nuts from www.britishfasteners.com at about 1/10 the price of our normal well-known-auto-suppliers-that-will-remain-nameless.

A bolt is only threaded part way up with the unthreaded being called a saddle.
As you say a fully threaded unit is called a set screw.

Thanks to all for your quick input and for putting me in the right direction.

By the way, I did some checking into the differences between the definitions of "bolt" and "screw" and I came out even more confused!

According to the Wikipedia definition of "screw," the distinction based upon fully threaded or partially threaded is "now an obsolete distinction."

Ditto Geoff's experience with

http://www.britishfasteners.com/

I needed some 2BA cheese head and some BSF stainless for my Norton and they beat the usual motorcycle suppliers hands-down.

Not in the UK, it isn't.
