MG TD TF 1500 - Source for pedal boot

Hello, Does anyone have a current source for a more resilient fume and dust excluder? It is item 280-420 in the Moss Catalog for the brake and clutch pedal on the TD. The last I read the Moss product quickly tore.

I don't know if there is more than one manufacturer of these, but I kind of doubt it. Might try From The Frame Up just in case they have a better one. It's a TC parts house but apparently this part is the same, which I didn't know before now.

The ones Abingdon had a couple years ago are vastly thicker than the last one I saw from Moss. I have one, and the base rubber is almost 1/4" thick. No Moss part numbers or any info molded in. No way to know what is out there now.

I ordered one from Doug Pelton. We’ll see what it looks like.

Thank you

Boot arrived from “From the Frame Up”. It appears as described about in reference to the Abington Spares supplied unit. Base is 1/4” thick. We’ll see how long this one lasts.

I've reactivated a thread "Brake/Clutch Interference in Pedal Box". The extra thickness in the A/S rubber can be a problem. Bud

FWIW. When installing the fume excluder I warm the boot in hot water so it can be made more pliable and lubricate the the peddle arms and boot holes with liquid soap so will slide easily over the arms. The soap can then be rinsed off.
