MG TD TF 1500 - ?Spark plug gap with electronic ignition
As noted earlier, I have an older Petronix unit. That being the case presently (I may go back to points)what do I set the plug gap at? If I remember correctly it's .025 with points. And I'm thinking it's .030 with electronic ignition. Not sure. Anyone know?

You can go up to .35 but it can stress the components and give you tracking on the inside of your distributor cap ( happened to me...) I settled on 0.30 Dave

I use .030" with a sport coil for either type of ignition. Bud

Ditto on .030 here.

I'm running .35' gap, but have the 30,000 volt Pertronix Flame Thrower. Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué.

Have had no problem with .035" and that's supercharged.

Thank you all again. I'm going with the .030 that I thought to be correct. I know I read that somewhere.

I have an Accuspark system in mine although I never go anywhere without a backup points system in the tool box just in case. I am very happy with my electronic ignition. I get better starting and the ignition strobe light shows more consistent timing. A well setup points system I am sure would give results that are close to any electronic system on the market. For me it's simply a convenience thing. I set my plug gaps to the standard .025" and she runs nicely with both points and the electronic system with this gap. I see no reason to increase the gap and stress the system but there again I am not looking for high performance. I just want to get to the pub and back without drama.
