MG TD TF 1500 - Stainless Thermostats Available
I'm pleased to say that I have received the latest shipment of 20 (only) stainless thermostat housings, and am very, very pleased with them. I have sent e-mails to those who inquired in the past about availability, and who asked to be put on the waiting list. If I have missed anyone, please let me know ASAP. After these pre-orders are filled, I will have a limited number of thermostats available, so please let me know your interest. See the detailed description at http://mgtrepair.net/Thermostat.html These foundry lost-wax cast stainless housings include stainless Stant thermostats, all gaskets, stainless elbow screws and retaining ring, and are ready for installation. They are truly works of art. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested. It takes about 6 months for more thermostat housings to be cast and machined, so these will not last too long. Tom Have you ever considered making the water outlet for the TF 1500? I think that is the one with the heater outlet as well as the Temp gage outlet. Just a thought. It would make adding a heater much easier. Rick |

Rick - I believe the demand does not merit such a project. I AM considering casting stainless water elbows for the TB/TC and TD thermostat housings in stainless, to match my housings. For those who have contacted me, I will be sending out the first 8 thermostat housings on Monday, and will look forward to your comments. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

A very nice piece Tom - well done! I think Rick is actually correct in thinking that the TF1500 style outlet would have a decent market. The provision for the heater hose is something many TF1250 owners may want. Some 1500 owners may also need to replace their damaged or missing outlets as well. Food for thought. Tom could you post a photo on your website of your in-line fuel filter/hose that you offer - I have been looking for just such an arrangement. Thanks for your efforts on the parts you offer. |

Thanks for the kind words. I will look into it. As for the fuel line filter, I have not yet arrived at a satisfactory design, at an affordable price. I'm still working on it, though. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

I have filled all dozen pre-orders of my stainless steel thermostat housings. These housings are cast and machined in Australia exclusively for me, and costs for foundry work, machining, gaskets and all stainless steel parts are high (not to mention the nearly $12 postage for each one I send out!). Starting on Monday I must raise my $210 price. But due to my great respect and gratitude for the many wonderful folks on the BBS, however, I will honor the $210 pre-order price for all comers, through this weekend. This price includes a new stainless life-time thermostat housing, a new Stant Superstat 180 degree stainless thermostat (the best kind that stays open if it ever fails) stainless retaining ring, stainless screws and washers for your elbow, a FelPro base gasket and regular elbow gasket, and US postage. Starting on Monday, the price will be $230. I'll be happy to answer any questions. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

My housing arrived yesterday and it is a thing of beauty and function, one of the nicest machined parts I have ever seen. Jim |

Tom, The thermostat / thermostat housing arrived a few minutes ago. What a work of functional art. The machine work is of the utmost quality. I'll install it later this week. Thank you for shipping it out so quickly. And again, what a great product. Robert Flowers |
