MG TD TF 1500 - Starter/choke position

I have a 1953 TD, RHD, UK spec.
The car was rebuilt in 1981, the starter is on the left on the dash, the choe on the right.
Various publications I have seen show this as correct, others show the choke on the left.
Anyone know which is correct?

Hi Mike. The choke is on the left on RHD cars. See page 9 Driver's Handbook. Cheers

In my RHD 53TD the started is on the right as you said and you can hold the steering wheel for purchase and pull the starter with your left hand fingers.
I think it has always been that way Was the same on the other TD I owned prior.

From what I've seen the starter was on the steering wheel side with the choke on the passenger side.
The driver's handbook I have is for the RHD car and shows this arrangement.
My '52 TD is a restoration and has the choke on the steering wheel side with the starter on the passenger side. My guess is that the restorer saw the arrangement in the driver's handbook and used that as a guide.

I always thought TF's should be fixed too based on the RHD owners manual and then found out later they were all the same :-)
