MG TD TF 1500 - Starter field coil screw

In an effort to remove the field coils from my starter I destroyed one of the 4 short Phillips head screws that secure the coils to the case. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement? Or know the size/thread so I can search. Thanks

Mark - No promise, but I may have some of those screws kicking around. E-mail me at SUfuelpumps@donobi.net and I'll check for you. Cheers - Dave

Mark I think they are normal, countersunk BSF screws. I couldn't budge the ones in my old TD's starter but then saw a picture of the original tool for loosening and tightening them. I cut the blade off a large screwdriver and welded a nut on the shaft. I then fitted this into the chuck of my pedestal drill and used feed leaver to apply pressure to the screw whilst I turned it with a spanner on the nut. I was able to remove and replace them without issue. There is a picture of the correct tool on page N7 of the workshop manual.

May have one if Dave doesn't-let us know. Dan
