MG TD TF 1500 - Striker plate

The striker plates on my TC are in good condition apart from the rubber "bushing" which are perished but are not available as separate items. Is anyone aware of a source of bushing that is available that would do the job please.

Picture of item showing rubbers. In order to get some rigidity due to having to adjusting out the threaded barrel to get the door closing correctly please note I added a couple of washers

It would be possible to make them in TPU and 3D print them if you cant find a source. Another possibility is to make a silicone mould and cast them yourself usine Urethane-see photo of moulds that I made for shackle bushes (TD/TF) and tie bar (Morris Minor) bushes. The second photo shows the same shackle bush 3D printed in TPU.

I second Declan’s recommendation to make your own mold and cast them in urethane. I have done this myself.

If this were me, I think I would try a low budget work around and see if a small section of heater hose could be cut to length and fitted. Would it be thick enough and stiff enough?
