MG TD TF 1500 - TC Engine Replaced?
This guy knows little about the car, but seems convinced that he has the original engine. Even though it may be the original ID tag, it is on the plinth and not the bell housing, so I disagree. Anybody else have thoughts that I am missing? Thanks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321651588880?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Tom, |

It sure looks early TD to me. It also almost looks like the tag is held on by a screw, not a rivet. David |

Why does it have a TD air cleaner? And yes the ID plate is screwed on. |

Immediately noticed the placement of the tag is wrong for a TC. It looks like that engine got lifted from a TD and dropped into the TC, air cleaner and all. BobbyG |

The most obvious fact that it is a TD engine is the position of the water drain tap. All TC's had the drain tap at the middle of the block under the exhaust manifold. This engine clearly has the drain tap near the front and is therefore a TD engine. Hugh |

Also, a re-pop VIN/Guarantee plate, so caveat emptor... Not saying it's wrong, but... Tom Lange MGT Repair |
