MG TD TF 1500 - TC gear box oil

Most probably a very old question, but I have been using Red Line MT-90 ( SAE 75W90,AP1 GL4 Gear Oil) in my TC transmission.
Can anybody please advise if this is a most appropriate oil to use? It is difficult to obtain where I live and wonder what alternatives I have.
Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug, if you look in the archive I recently posted a thread "Oils aint oils" where this was discussed. You're on the TD/TF area of the BBS. However I can't imagine that the TC box would require a different oil. Cheers

Just had another quick look in the TD-TF archive. The concensus there is you are using the best gearbox oil for TD's & TF's that there is!

TCs require 140w in the gear box, rear axle and in the steering box. Moss stocks it.

Penrite MILD EP GEAR OIL SAE 110 does the job for me. If you read the sale pitch you will either be convinced of it being appropriate or dismiss it.

David is correct, 140W is specified for TC gearbox.
