MG TD TF 1500 - TD-0256
A friend of mine has an extreemly early TD for sale,, TD-0256. I have heard of only one earlier located in Canada. 0256 is presently apart, and located in New Jersey. The owner doesn’t not have the time to restore it. Disclamer; I have not seen the car. I do not know the asking price. I do not have any vested interest in the sale of this car. Any one interested?? I can send you his email address. Steve |

There is certainly behind-the-scenes interest, and a number of people are considering it. Negatives are that it is completely disassembled ("but all there..."), needs a complete restoration, and it has a replacement XPAG engine. An ordinary TD in that shape is perhaps a $3,000 car; this must be more than thrice that, due to the early number. Not quite the oldest, but the second-oldest known, and the oldest in the US. Can't be much worse than Robert Browne is undertaking with TD0267 down under. My hats off to this man. ![]() |
