MG TD TF 1500 - TD air cleaner measurement wanted

I need the distance the pipe that comes out of the bottom of the air cleaner and connects to the aluminum extends beyond the lowest part of the canister. I have a canister but the pipe appears to be too long. Thanks in advance of this information.

I just happen to have one on the bench. Pipe is about 3/4" from the lowest point on bottom of canister. Four slots are each about 1/8" wide by 3/8" long.

While you're at it Rich what's the diameter of the pipe & the overall diameter of the bath? It seems there are two sizes of oil bath air filters & I'd heard that the Mark 2 had a larger diameter filter. Is this correct? Hope you don't mind me using your thread Hugh to seek this info. Cheers

Thanks Richard! This measurement is exactly what I need.

Peter, Pipe is 1 7/8" id and canister is 6 15/16" od.

Yes, I don't have a TDC canister, but I understand they measure closer to 9" od.

Thanks for those dimensions Rich. I have two different sizes filters so I'll dig them out & compare measurements. One came from a local supplier who charged an arm & a leg, another from Ebay in the States which wasn't cheap & the third at a local swap meet for less than $20. I have no idea what they were originally fitted to. They all have the AC embossed cleaning instructions & one is about 2 inches larger than the other two. Thanks mate. Cheers
