Very interesting breathers on that valve cover. I'd love to see a photo of the other side! Looks like a Bell cover with some customization.

Sorry I can't help with a mechanic, I'm on the other side of the continent.

I'd also like to see something of the cooling system, as well - interesting water pump(?) top hose.

Send it to Glenn's in St. Pete. Where are you in Florida? George

It looks like a homemade "thermostat housing" without the thermostat. Appears to be tube miter cut on a 45 and welded into a compact 90 elbow. Interesting.

Probably stock pump underneath.

This guy obviously needs some help. Add 60 to about 20, then toss in the fact that he's disabled, but wants to get behind the wheel of his TD; surely there has to be someone in Florida who could make contact and extend a hand? Isn't that what the M.G fraternity is supposed to be all about? Cheers

Peter, it would certainly help to know where Mr. Hageman is located in Florida. A scan through the TSO CD-ROM shows an MG Special in the October 2003 issue that was built by a Jack Hageman. Bud

Peter, That is why we need to know where he lives. Florida is 450 miles long, and we are also under stay at home orders due to the virus. I would love to help him if nearby. Most of the active T-series and MG people are in the central part/Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa area. Not so much down south. Lots of COVID down there now as well. George

Great that you guys are on the case. I do remember the surname from posts a few years back or maybe even from surfing the archive. Granted that the virus does make things tough though everywhere. Hopefully he'll come back with an email address so that somebody within cooee can assist. Cheers

I searched the archives for "Hageman" and it appears that he has been an active BBS participant and perhaps lives in the Fort Lauderdale area. That's pretty far south but hopefully someone in the Miami area can give him some help.

Jim Hageman was quite active for a bit and predicted that he was on his way to becoming physically disabled and wheelchair bound. He had signed in as being from Ft. Lauderdale. Earlier posts showed an email as jhage777@comcast.net. The Oct. 2002 TSO showed the attached as a car that Jim had built/wrecked. Hope somebody can make contact and help him. Bud

No luck with that jhage777@comcast.net email. Bud

Thanks everyone for your welcomed responses. I am in Davie Florida about 20 miles inland from Ft Lauderdale and next to Weston.
Here's the flip side as requested. Valve cover and side plate were the result of beating another TD down Whittier Blvd at midnight after work. That and $15 made them mine in 1961. The water pump has been on this block since I bought the car in 65. The crank is from another engine that at one time was running a S.C.O.T blower hence the double pulley Original TD suffered a broken crank and I replaced the engine with a Studebaker Champion engine 110 hp and three speed electric overdrive. My dad sold the car as soon as i was sent overseas.
Ive owned this TD since buying it for $150 in 1965 when I got out of the Army. caved in right side due to a close encounter with a Buick. This car has been in Florida, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Washington State and now back with me parked in my garage up on wheel casters. Suffering from a non curable muscle disease(IBM) has put me in a position of not being able to work on the car at all.
PS:
to Tom Lange, I still have the louvered hood I promised to send to you 3 or 4 years ago. maybe this year. water pump pics next post

I am reactivating this.

We are down in FL for the Winter. I am 20 Miles from Davie.
I have both the TESLA and the MG-TD.

We are in a condo which prohibits working in your cars (supposedly)
I would like to bleed my brakes so I did an Archive search for "Mechanic in Florida" and this showed up.

I sent the following note to the email mentioned, which I am not sure is the correct one.

"Are you still in need of some help on your TD?

We have just moved into a condo in Deerfield Beach.

Now I am 87, so I may not be able to do all you need.
I can certainly bleed brakes. Depending on what you have for lifts I may be able to do you clutch linkage.

I do have all my BSF wrenches with me but not much more."

I can also enlist the help of my 23 year old grandson, if heavy lifting is needed.

I have not heard back from the email. Perhaps the original sender is still monitoring the BB, so I am reposting.
