MG TD TF 1500 - TD Side Curtain Box tab Dimensions and Fixings
When I covered the lid to my side curtain box with Vinyl, i neglected to note the placement of the securing tabs. I believe they are 4-1/4" in from the edge (distance to the center of the tab, and 1-1/4" down from the top of the vertical hinged cover. Can anyone verify this. Also how are they secured, oval head wood screws and cup washers or oval head machine screws, cup washers and nuts? Thanks for any help. Jim B. |

This shot is of an unrestored TD I took a few years ago. I didn't get any further back, so can't help with actual measurements. Not sure mine are in original place, but can measure tonight if no one else chimes in. George

My unrestored tabs measure 1-1/2" from the top of the rexine to the center of the screws. The center of one tab is 4-1/4" from the edge, and the other one is closer to 4" from the edge. They are mounted as shown in George's picture. Joe |

These are some pics I took of an original SC door. It was red but had been dyed black in the 60's. Don't have dimensions but you should be able to work out the location & fixing details. Cheers Peter TD 5801 ![]() |

Thanks Pete and Joe and George. I did run across the old screws and they are FH #6 by 1/2" long. I can move on now. Jim B. |

Interesting, my tabs are much closer to the center than Peter's, only a few inches from the center handle latch. |
