MG TD TF 1500 - TD Windshield Idler
I am sorting out my chrome from the platers and I could not remember if the windshield idler has a flat washer under the 1/2 nut or not. None of my original pictures show the idler :-( |

Can you translate Idler into Australian please? :-) If its the locknut on the side then there should be a washer with D shaped hole beneath. The wingnut just has a conical washer. Matthew. |

The windshield wiper idler supports the slave wiper arm on a TD, and does indeed have a plated washer under the securing nut. I recently purchased a complete assembly from Doug Pelton at From The Frame Up, as it was cheaper than replating the old parts. Hope this assists with the translation Mathew.[just kidding] Regards Wayne Routley TD 1864 Y6668 |

Thanks Wayne. I had this rouge chrome washer and its perfect under the idler nut so I was pretty sure that's where it went. Matthews problem is that TF's don't have one so its not in his vernacular :-) |

Chris, can you post a pic? Thanks. Jud '53 TD (with wiper assembly disassembled) |

Hard to take a picture with an iPhone flash on chrome. You can barely make out the washer under the nut.

Can see it well enough. Thanks. Jud |
