MG TD TF 1500 - TF 25th January build

Does anybody have a TF with a build date of 25th January 1954? That is my build date too. My Tf was built on the 18th of May 54.

Two build dates? Confused.

Max - Are you sure that 25 Jan 54 was not the launch date for you, with the build start date occurring 9 months earlier? :-) Cheers - Dave

My TF 1500 rolled off the assembly line on October 15 1954. I was 14 months old by then.

Hi Max,

Great photo Jan! Very emotive, reminds me of so many night time drives home in the TF.

Here is a shot I took on our recent Pre War MG rally when I was riding in a friends P type. I am controlling the camera in one hand.

Ian ,you meant 'your' build date of 25/1/54? Dewley from Qld who has attended several recent national meetings has a TF with that date. Any plans for the big birthday?

Matthew.
M Magilton

Sorry for the ambiguity. My Birthday is 25th Jan 54. David, I thought I might get some comments on my build date being 9 months earlier.

My TF was 18th of May.

Matthew, I asked Aubrey to delay the register TF birthday scheduled for November 24th until 25th Jan so it would coincide with my 60th but for some reason he thought I was joking which of course I was.

Matthew, It is nice to know there is a car in Aus built on 25th Jan. Do you know chassis number?

Ray, my sister was born 27th of jan but she is three years older, and no, neither my mother nor father have a birthday in May.

Jan,
We are very close!
Izzy shows build date of October 11th & 12th and shipped on the 13th 1954.

David,
my car was exported to the US, LHD, red in and out, wire wheels, xpeg. History unknown until it was restored in Ohio in the eighties, then owned by a Bob Colaizzi jr, and according to him it was restored in the shop of a Fritz Adelsberger. Odometer was zeroed, is now at approx 9000 miles. The lack of any rust repairs or welding and no obvious repro parts makes me believe this might have been a low mileage car before the restoration.

regards,

Jan
