MG TD TF 1500 - TF 60th Gathering, Melbourne

Just sharing a few pictures of our clubs gathering to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the launch of the TF (yes, a little late, I know). Despite threatening weather we had 26 TF's and 6 other T types present for a pleasant lunch in a park.

Can't have a birthday without a cake!

We even received a commemorative wine bottle and personalised poster, nice touch from the organisers.

Did your centre have a get-together? I would love to see your photos.

Cheers,
Matthew.

PS. Any Aussies who own or used to own a TF are welcome to contact me, I may have some info on your car.

STEVE WINCZE

Great photos, thanks for sharing. I have never seen more than 4 or 5 TFs together; seeing 26 in one place would be a treat.
Jack Long

Have to second that Jack,
Nice get together you guys.

Steve, It was quite strange as places all around us were getting wet, but not a drop at our park until after the event finished. So if you want to stay dry then park your TF's in a circle, must create a vortex or something?

Matthew.

M Magilton

Kind of an "opposite vortex" of what happens when you park a bunch of trailers in rows in Oklahoma!
(Hmmm wonder if all that "positive ground" energy has something to do with it?)
David Sheward TF1500 #7427

If I remember MG 2001 we only had a half dozen TF's. nice to see a large group like that.

Here is a shot of our 50th in 2003. Taken at Werribee Park mansion.

Is that a lone TD (or maybe a TC) in the background pointed nose out?

Jud, Do you think it's being snubbed? Grin. PJ
Paul sr

I think it's just showing its individuality.

Behind the tent are some TC's that parked earlier.

Mathew,
That aerial photo from 2003 has got to be a classic. A great set up and a wonderful picture.

Gday Bill, You may know this already but I have seen your car listed in The Sacred Octagon magazine in 1980 as then owned by John Mills.

Cheers,
Matthew.
M Magilton

Thanks Mathew I bought it from Bob Mills back in the 80s but no history except that it was stored in an aircraft hanger for a number of years. I will try to obtain the magazine. Bill
