MG TD TF 1500 - TF Clock Screws

Hi All,

I'm missing 3 of the 4 screws that attach the clock works to the housing on the back of the speedo. (See attached photo)

Does anyone know the screw size and where I could order them?

Thanks in advance,

John

I am reasonably confident they are BA, I might have some if you cant source locally.

They are 3 BA with a cheese (fillister) head.

Oops. I just noticed you said "TF". My response is correct for a TD, but I'm not sure about a TF clock. I've never held one.

Worked out for me, as I needed that information! Lew, do you know what size the tiny screws on the clock face are?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

I THINK they are 6 BA, but I would need to measure them to be sure - and I'm not about to tear my tach and clock apart to find out. Sorry.

Thank you all for responding.

At this point it's between 6BA and 7BA and will be checking with a couple of folks who regularly repair these clocks.

I'll report back what I find out.

Thanks Lew. Your numbers are a good start. My clock is apart, but all I can tell you is that the clock face screws are tiny!

As promised, I'm pleased to report that the screws are 7BA for the TF clock.

I ordered off the internet from Red Rooster UK the following:

"Brass clock screws x100 assorted for movement cases". SKU 2610-567A. They were $4.95 BP.

I also ordered brass cheese head bolts from BA BOLTS LTD. 6BA, 7BA & 8BA. They were approx. the same cost as the Red Rooster UK order. The shortest in stock were 3/8".

The 7BA bolts from BA BOLTS fit perfectly but where way too long. I fished throught the 100 assorted clock casement screws and found the right size and length and screwed them in.

Again, just reporting my findings and hopefully this will help the next person needing these screws.

Thank you John. It is good practice to wrap up discussions in this way when possible. Much appreciated.
