MG TD TF 1500 - TF convertible top suppliers
I will be needing a top for my TF and was wondering where I can find the best source and price. Am aware of Moss and Abingdon Spares with the cost for the top and side curtain kit looking like it will come close to $1000. Seems a great sum for such a small top and less than 2 yards of fabric. An ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Bob |

Robbins is really not an option where I live and would prefer to install it myself... Bob |

I have installed four Robbins tops, and two Moss manufactured tops. I can recomend Robbins hands down. Abingdon spares sells Robbins tops. The best looking, best fitting tops at shows and GOFs are usuaully Robbins tops. -David. |

Dave, Did you buy the Robbins top from AS or from a Robbins distributor. Is it cheaper to buy from a Robbins Distributor?? Bob |

Bob, I got a ready to fit top for the TF from EZ Softtops in Washington State. Were great to deal with and had it out to Ozz in under 10 days from ordering. It fitted without too much cussin'! Kev TF6288 ![]() |

Went online and found EZ soft tops. Also found the best price of $679 for both top and side curtains made by Robbins at topsonline. Anybody ever use this source or had good or bad experiences with them, their price is quite a saving over the usual MGT parts sources? Bob |

Who makes Moss tops for the T series? Oh Kev, beautiful car, mine will be painted very close to the same color. PJ |

Wow, Sure glad the topsonline info came up here. what an enormous difference from moss. I was going to order from them but now I guess I'll be buying elsewhere. I notice topsonline shows black and tan interior fabrics for the tan tops. How would a td have looked originally? I'm assuming tan? |

No problem fitting a Robbins top and side curtains yourself, I did it and I am not an upholster. Cheat a little by downloading the Moss installation instructions from the web, they provide some useful clues. Plenty of distributors listed on the Robbins web site, think I purchased by Tops on Line. Saved a fortune, the Ausy dollar was strong at the time. For the Aussy sun a tan top is the best choice, black acts as a "heat sink", tan also makes for a good contrast against most duco colours. Graeme |

All TDs (maybe all MGs but at least all TDs) came from Abbingdon with tan hoods and half tonneaus. Jud |

Thanks JK. My concern was the inside material on the top. In discussion with my dad (an original owner) he thought that they were tan on both surfaces also |
