MG TD TF 1500 - TF cross brace hole
The image attached shows a 1/2 inch hole in the rear cross brace behind the seat into the rear inner fender well. The picture is looking to the rear. My question: what is the purpose of this hole?

To tell the truth, I cannot get oriented as to what we may be seeing and the location. Is it possible to get a better and clearer photo? But, someone else may have it solved by the time you do so. Jerry |

Jerry, I'm a TD'er but I can tell you where that view is. It's looking from the driver's seat area toward the cross brace at floor level behind the seats. You can see the raised lip that locates the driver's side floorboard. The large hole on the right side is the hole in the verticle section that holds the hinge pillar. OK? Bud |

Maybe for a seat belt with a large washer/nut on the outside? I don't think stock. George |

Bought the car as a pile of parts so have no idea what was in the hole. It went through the inner fender which I have replaced so I suspect the seat belt theory may be the answer. After the carpet is in place nobody will be the wiser until the next guy does a restoration in 40 years. Thanks for the inputs |

Seat belts. My car has them too. Typical 60's add on. |
