MG TD TF 1500 - TF front engine mount
I need some info. on what attaches the engine bearer plate to the front engine mount. It's been a long time since I pulled it down. I presume it's a right angled bracket of some sort and the Moss catalgue doesn't show it. Thanks in advance. Don Walker Sth Oz.(hot 110f today and 115f tomorrow!) TF4887 |

The front plate on a Tf has a lower horizontal piece with 2 holes which go over the 2 studs on the engine mount. To my knowledge their is no additional bracket. |

Thanks a lot Max, but I'm not too sure on the lower horizontal piece. I have a flat top on the engine mount and a vertical plate, I need the 'bit' in between. Regards, Don TF 4887 |

There is a good illustration in the Service Parts list showing the big U-shaped mount plate and how the horizontal part goes straight over the rubber/metal engine mount. Are you missing the U-shaped piece? Matthew. 42 Deg Celsius in Melbourne. |

Thanks Matthew, and Dave for the diagram. The memory is slowly coming back and I do have that part, I reckon the heat has fried my brain. David, the Moss catalogue doesn't show that part. Now, back to the shed. Regards, Don Sth Oz. TF 4887 (Matthew, I will email a photo of my progress when I put the engine in the chassis.) |

Don, I should have walked out to the garage to have a look at the car but it was too hot. Matthew is correct about the large U shaped piece, it jogged my memory as well as yours. I won't be going into the garage tomorrow either, the forecast is for 44 degrees celsius. |
