MG TD TF 1500 - TF Glove Box Covers

Anyone know who is making TF glove box covers, or where to purchase them? Asking for a friend.

Thanks,

Lonnie,
I bought a couple of pairs of TF glove box covers from Abingdon Spares about six years ago. Each glove box has two pieces of fiber board, which are covered with vinyl. I had thought they are held together with machine screws, but have since learned they are held together with split rivets.
I was very impressed with the quality, they looked to match the OEM in texture, material and quality.
Be well,

Thanks David.

I wrote the description incorrectly about what I’m looking for.

I’m looking for an after-market door that covers the opening of the TF glove boxes. Looking for a producer or for tips on making them.

I’m gonna make a prototype for my friend.

The images are of the dash i made for my TF out of Birdseye Maple and a glovebox lid I made for a friend. The wood dash was not yet completed in this photo.
It is quite straightforward and does not require any specialized woodworking skills or tools.
The hinge is a piano hinge, approx 1/2 inch. The trim is a piece of 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/16 in alum angle from Home Depot with one leg cut down, and then polished. PM me for details.

Rorry,

Your TF dash and glove box doors are stunning. A club member is making glove box doors for my friend.

The flush mount inset doors with aluminum trim are really nice.

I gave away four beautiful Sapele boards a couple of weeks ago ... before my friend asked me about making glove box doors. Looks like that's what you used for the door in your bottom photo.

I don't know how to send PMs on this BBS. Will you please send me your email address to my email address listed by my name at the top of this post?

Thanks,

Lonnie

The nicest ones by far I have ever seen were posted on here maybe 8 or 10 years ago. Made of steel by Scott A. and his father. Looked like a factory job. Search the archives and you can find them.-

I just brought it to the top of the page....door locks. I was mistaken. They are made from plexiglass.

And it was only 5 years ago.
